Presented by Ms. Try Muykea on behalf of the CEO of the company, Dr. Hay Ly Eang, PPM has attracted the attention of the pre-selection jury of the National Entrepreneurship Award 2022 since our laboratory is qualified for the final of the competition on November 23.
Before detailing the main seps of the company’s development on a national and international level, Ms. Try Muykea explained that its creation in 1996 was a response to the urgent need to rebuild the country’s pharmaceutical industry, which had been destroyed by the years of war, so that the entire population, including the poorest, could have access to quality medicines.
At that time, she reminded the jury, the local market was flooded with imported medicines that were either counterfeit or too expensive for most people. Leader on the national market, PPM laboratories, with experience and know-how particularly adapted to developing countries, export their products to about twenty countries in Asia and Africa.
The National Entrepreneurship Award is organized by the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (INEI) and has put in competition, in its initial phase, some 200 companies from four sectors of activity: agriculture, industrial and craft production, new technologies and information technology, tourism.
In addition to highlighting talented and dynamic business leaders, the Entrepreneurship Award also aims to raise public awareness of the important role of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country’s economy, to develop public-private partnerships in a spirit of social responsibility, and to encourage projects that highlight local products.
In 2021, Confirel, also founded by DR Hay Ly Eang, received the first prize of this trophy in the category of enterprises in the agricultural sector.
